Blogging will be on hold for a few days while I rebuild our laptop. I reformatted the hard drive to remove Vista (while I thought Vista was cool, I think it made our computer run a little slow) and reinstall XP but now the laptop doesn’t know it has a network card so no internet/network access. Thank goodness we have the desktop so I can download drivers and such. But in the meantime, I will be focusing all my awake non-Mallory home time on getting the laptop running again. Wish me luck.

This is what winter is all about. Big snow followed by a day off to recover from the big snow, light snow today, a little more snow forecasted for tomorrow.
I like this way better than the snow, 50 degrees, snow, rain, snow, 60 degrees pattern we’ve had so far this winter.
I love all the seasons, but when they are supposed to be here. 60 degrees & rain is fine, in the spring. 60 degrees & rain in the winter – blech. How depressing.
Bring on the snow!!
Naming Babies
Got this email from my dear college friend Kyle today. His wife is due February 14th with a boy. I asked if they were sharing names:
I have always thought I’d name my baby after whoever was in the news the day he was born. That made for conversation during the Super Bowl if my son were born Sunday and Plaxico was the MVP. Justin (one of Kyle’s best friends) named his son Eli, so that was off the table AND Vicki is still pregnant. Super Tuesday came and went so Barack is gone, too.
LOL.
"Who Cares"
So I have this survey thing to see what people thought about me creating a second blog to I could keep family stuff separate from Mallory stuff. I have a whopping six responses. Five answered that they like everything together. But today someone answered the survey with the third option I gave, which is “Who cares – this blog is dumb”.
I was laughing out loud. No one was supposed to actually pick that option!!
Patriots & Chargers
We are watching the Patriots-Chargers game. It’s 6am. We can’t find anyone that delivers breakfast.
Travel Blog #2
Well, if you’ve gotten this far, you know we are going to Guam. We have had this trip planned since last February, as soon as we could book the flights with our frequent flyer miles.
Why Guam? I was born on Guam, my dad was in the Navy, and we lived there until I was 1.5 years old. Obviously I don’t remember anything but I have always wanted to go back to visit. My dad promised me a trip back when I graduated high school if I had a 4.0. That didn’t happen so he promised me a trip back when …

We are gearing up for our big trip. Part of me thinks it is silly to leave so soon after the bowl game but I guess there really isn’t any other good time to travel. July is the only other month that Rick has down time at work and we want to be on the lake as much as possible in the summer. Two years ago we were getting ready for our belated honeymoon to Aruba…hard to believe that was only two years ago!
Somewhat Off-Topic: Go Blue!
Oh. My. Gosh. What an unbelievable football game yesterday. It was beyond fabulous and I was beyond emotional.
I was reminded this football season that I am “part of the program” so I have to behave myself while at games, etc. It also means that I am more than just a fan of the football team – and I felt it big time yesterday. I was in tears as the game clock ticked down to 00:00 – happy for the team, happy for Coach Carr, and happy to break my 0-fer streak at bowl games.
I’ll save the game recap and analysis …
Holy Hits
Just checked my blog stats for today. 73 hits so far and it’s only 11am?
Off-topic: Still Arrogant
