I had so much fun making crafts with Mallory this holiday season. This was a hard one though – I think she ate almost as many kisses as she put on the pretzels :-)

January 11, 2010 – Mallory takes pictures
Here is the picture Mallory took yesterday.
Happy New Hair!*
We spent New Years Day 2010 watching football. Unfortunately for us, Rick was watching football with us again this year.
There’s always next year.
ANY-way. My dad invited us over to my sister’s for dinner on New Years Day, and seeing as how we were looking at having pizza for the 3rd night that week, we happily accepted!
For some reason, I took pictures of all of us at the table. And in case you were wondering, my brother-in-law really does have a face (he’s not like Wilson from Home Improvement).
After a great dinner, we rocked out to Rock Band…at …
Well, helloooo 2010!
2009 was a pretty good year for us.
Here it is in review:
January – a work trip to Tampa for me, and Rick & Mallory came along; got to see Nina & Papa
February – Mallory’s first ski trip – she loved it (I think we still need to post the video…hint, hint, RB)
March – Arlo’s due date came and went…
April – Arlo was born and Mallory got a baby brother!
May – I returned to work from my maternity leave
June – nothing remarkable – Rick is incredibly busy with football camps
July – Rick competed in the Racine triathlon again (crushing his …
Christmas Cards
I had a lot of fun (and spent too much time) designing our Christmas cards this year. I am pretty happy with how they turned out, and am already planning next year’s card. Just kidding (sort of). I had a big learning experience this year – DO NOT ORDER PHOTO CARDS FROM VISTA PRINT. They were HORRIBLE and I ended up having to scramble to order from another place. The new place was more expensive per card, but I got overnight shipping for $10. Vista was cheap for the cards, but $40 for 7-day shipping, so it ended up being …
So this is Christmas
Carson enjoying his gift from Santa
Mallory JUST noticed her gift hanging on the tree
So excited about her new camera “CARSON! Look at my new polka-dot camera!”
Playing with Carson’s new trucks
Christmas was so much fun this year. Mallory really got into it. We did the whole “Elf on a Shelf” thing – she named ours “Arlo the Elf” and every day Arlo would watch Mallory and then at nighttime he would fly back to Santa to report how Mallory did, but he’d always come back in the morning before Mallory woke up. She …
Call me Crafty Mom
After seeing this post I got inspired to be Crafty Mom and try to make one for my kids to leave cookies & carrots for Santa & the reindeer.
Mine didn’t come out as perfect as the one that inspired me, but I still am pleased with my creation.
Of course, Mallory wanted to make a plate too, so the next night Rick stopped at the “plate store” (aka K.Mart) and got Mallory a plate to color. I made Rick help her. This is what they came up with – it’s a plate just for the reindeer.
I guess I …
Favoritism already
Check out the email I received yesterday from Rick.

I opened Carson’s college plan with $2000, I opened Mallory’s with $400.
I hope this little slip-up was only because he thinks Mallory has a better chance at an athletic scholarship in college since she’s a girl.
I guess I should be getting her into golf and field hockey instead of “creative movement” dance class.
I is for…
Mallory loves loves loves her little brother – she is unbelievably attentive to him and loves to make him laugh. I can’t believe how lucky we are. Rick & I have some pretty cool kids.

H is for…
I don’t think I shared this picture of Mallory riding a horse from our trip to the pumpkin farm but here she is! She loved it and I actually expected that we were going to have to stop by there every day after work to let her ride (so far I’ve avoided that stop). But she talks about it all the time!
