I’m pretty disappointed that week 2 of the “Sam I Am” series is (a) late and (b) lame. I am working on teaching Mallory how to take better pictures but until then, here is the only picture of me from the past week.
Do you see me?
There I am, just over Liam’s head, in the pink coat. I believe I was feeding my baby while my sister was snapping photos of her kids.

B is for…
I am not sure if I am cheating a little bit by using this for B instead of S – but I love that Mallory says “bresses” instead of “dresses”.
Don’t forget to check out my extra B entry from last week.

Sam I Am 52:1
Thanks to my super creative cousin Susan, I have a super-clever name for my “picture of me each week” project. :-)
This week’s entry was supposed to just be a picture of me showing that I was the last one to leave the tailgate on Saturday. But it also ended up being the only picture of me from this week so it is my only option. Now you know why I need to have this project so I can get myself on film memory card.
I promise that these should be more interesting the next 51 weeks.
Bossy Genes
All poor Mallory inherited from me are my cheeks and my thighs. Rick gave her his round head and his brown eyes. While Mallory’s eyes aren’t as dark brown as Rick’s, they are a lighter brown with some golden flecks in them.
So, I’m happy that Carson looks a little like me, but I am afraid his eyes are getting a little less blue. And I will be pretty upset if neither of my children ends up with my eye color.
All because of Rick’s bossy genes.
{I can’t take credit for the saying, but it is too perfect to …
Head start on next week’s Alphabitty Entry
I might have to make my buddy Mike be a guest blogger on my blog if he’s going to contribute gems like this.
Here is email I got this morning. If you are new to this blog – check the bottom-ish section of this post for the background…

You gotta use this $hit. This is solid GOLD! I only had 5 min so it’s not perfect, but the idea is there.

A is for…Alphabitty
I found the “Alphabitty” idea on 4 Love of Family a while back, but she was in the middle of the alphabet so I sort of tucked the idea away on my “that would be fun…I’ll keep it in mind for a scrapbook idea in the future” list
However, my to-do list is getting longer, not shorter, so this idea sort of fell off the list, until I saw today that MamaBear is starting over with A ~ just the kick in the tush I needed :-)
I can’t promise that my pages will be anything superfantastic or win any awards, but …
Chipmunk Cheeks
This week’s theme is “baby pics” and I think I share enough photos of my kids here on this blog so I wanted to share one of my baby/toddler photos.
My favorite thing about this picture is that the can next to me is probably my dad’s Schlitz.
So this is me at about 2-ish I think. I won’t tell you the year ;-)
For Sale Update
We got our house in tip-top shape for the open house…we’ll see how long it lasts. Mallory got some books out after the open house and wouldn’t put them away so I threw them in the garbage. She fished them out and put them away. Whatever works.
So only two couples came to the open house. I think I knew that we wouldn’t get a ton of traffic but Rick & I needed the open house as a deadline to get the house organized.
Supposedly one couple asked how firm we were on the price, and our realtor said there …
Cleaning Up
I’m supposed to be on vacation up north with my kids and my dog and my dad. But the weather was craptastic so we came home early. So my vacation day got converted to a cleaning day.
This morning I sent Mallory to play with her friend Alli, and Cooper went to play at Grandpa’s. We are having an open house tomorrow (see, I told you our house is on the market for reals), which means we need to get the house cleaned up.
As I’m cleaning, I’m realizing that the process would be easier if I kept up with the every …
Time to Laugh
The theme this week is “Time to Laugh” and you are supposed to use a joke or a cartoon or picture or whatever.
Given the fact that I have my own personal laugh factory happening in my house almost every day, I figured I had to go with these two pictures. I think it’s a tie.
I titled these: “Handy Mallory” and “Mallory, The Cold Ballerina”. I’ll ask you to name these photos in another post.
