Well, more catching up to do.
Rick’s dad & his wife were in town this past weekend visiting from Florida (or “Flor-did-da”, as Mallory likes to say). We had a pretty low-key weekend planned, with only two agenda items: watch Michigan play softball and get the lights working on the boat trailer. I’m happy to say the boat trailer lights work and that Michigan softball is headed to the World Series.
But I am a little sad that softball won because it means my 7-wk old baby now has to start daycare two weeks earlier than we had planned; Rick …

Things you learn on maternity leave
Seeing as how I’m wrapping up my 9th week of maternity leave (5 weeks after Carson plus the almost 4 weeks when I was still cooking Baby Arlo) and have spent a fair amount of time on my couch next to the windows that face our road, I am pretty tuned in to the happenings of my street. Here are some observations:
I don’t like seeing my neighbor waddle out to get her mail from the mailboxes that are right across the street from our house. She wears her pajamas all day and it isn’t a pretty sight. This is the …
5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
My cousin just sent me this recipe and said she was going to make it this weekend. But it only takes five minutes…why wait til the weekend?!
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix …
Photoshop Comments
As I mentioned before, I am messing around with Photoshop and putting different filters on almost all of my pictures. So if anything looks really gross or horrible, PLEASE comment and tell me that my adjustments suck!
I am not a fan of technology right now
I swear. For as much as I love my computer(s) and blogging and all things electronic, right now I feel like I want to go live on a beach with nothing but a pad of paper and a glass bottle to send messages to people by sea. But with my luck, my glass bottle would have a crack in it and my pen would stop working.
So anyway. Rebuilt the laptop last week – something started happening and we couldn’t get our data off so I thought to try upgrading to Vista and was able to get our data off. …
Don't forget to vote
Ok, I’ve already posted this before but I know there are some blog readers out there who haven’t voted yet.
So check out the ExpectNet.com link to the right and cast your vote for Baby Arlo’s stats :-)
This month in history

Look how far we’ve come!!
Mallory's new car
Well, we bought Mallory her first car yesterday and she is nice enough to let us drive it for the next 14 years until she turns 16 and is old enough to get her license. What a nice daughter we have!!
We finally got rid of Rick’s not-very-carseat-friendly Jeep and replaced it with a Honda Accord. Isn’t it pretty? We were looking to get something that was friendly for two carseats and also got good gas mileage and this car fit the bill. I was pushing for a Jetta but RB thinks they are too small so we went with the …
Thankful
I think I should (belatedly) share my list of things I am thankful for.
I am thankful that Rick & I both have jobs and a house and cars that run. I am thankful for the football season being over, even though we don’t get our Christmas vacation this year. I am thankful for my family living so close, even though they drive me crazy sometimes. I am thankful for the blob of Arlo in my tummy who moves almost ALL.THE.TIME and I would like to tell Arlo that even though I yell at him/her to SETTLE DOWN IN THERE, …
Stuff to remember
I am worn out and thus this will be a boring post; and that means it is going to be done up bullet-style.
Leaving daycare today, we were already in the car – Mallory yelled “BYE AL-SON (Allison)!!!! BYE FWENDS (friends)!!!!! BYE DEMI!!!!!!! BYE MEHWEEEEE (Mary)!!!!!” (Demi & Mary are two of the teachers).
Whenever it’s time to eat, Mallory tells me “eat time!”
She is still obsessed with pretending to offer us food – usually with her spoons that she grabs from the silverware drawer, but sometimes she pretends with her hands. The other night we spent about five solid minutes of …
