Yes, I saved all my Facebook* statuses from the end of March and the end of my pregnancy last year because they were too funny to not save. These updates were to save people from having to call or email me to see if I’d had the baby yet.
Enjoy. :-)

So, remember this post? The one where my dad did the math and I was 6.1% bigger at 36wks with Arlo/Carson than I was at 40w with Fred/Mallory?
Not sure why it took me almost 10 wks to remember that post and then realize that NO $HIT I was bigger, since Carson was so gigantic at birth.
I thought about it today as was scurrying around at work, remembering my physical therapy and the pain in my lower back when I was still pregnant (and wondering if I’d ever be able to walk normal [or is it normally?] again).

I updated …
What’s in a name?
People have been asking us what our girl name was if Carson hadn’t been a boy. So I’m here to share.
Our #1 girl name was Emma. Other girl options were Delaney (like Jimmy Buffett’s daughter’s name) or Ainsley (Rick didn’t like at all but I loved it!).
Our close runner-up for a boy was Olsen. I liked that it was unusual without being wacky. Rick also liked Miles and Ike. And Arlo (he never gave up on that one, even right up to the end).
What’s two pounds?
Before I forget…
On Friday, the anesthesiologist was in to check on me (another perk to having a nurse anesthetist for a sister) and Dr B walked in. She & the anesthesiologist started talking about how big Carson was and stuff, and I reminded Dr B that at my appointment on Monday, she predicted I would have an 8-1/4 pound baby.
She looked at the anesthesiologist and shrugged her shoulders and said “eh, what’s two pounds?”.
LMAO.
Baby Carson’s Birth Story
Here is the story of Baby Carson’s birth.
Had 8.30a appointment for a NST (non-stress test) on Thursday April 2. Emily came with me – she was off work that day and nothing better to do apparently. Thank goodness she did come with me, seeing as how the day played out.
Checked my fluid levels and they looked great. Got on the monitors and it took a while for the baby to wake up. I had one real contraction while on the monitor and when Dr B came in, she checked me (still ~4cm dilated) and said that she saw one thing …

40w5d Baby Arlo Update
I just realized that I hadn’t posted a proper Baby Arlo update yet today!
So, still here, and still pregnant.
It’s my birthday and while I wasn’t real excited about sharing my birthday, I’d be more excited to have a baby so I’ll learn to share if need be.
I realized today that I am in the middle of my FOURTH WEEK of maternity leave. Some guys at my work were joking that I probably lied about my due date just to have some extra time off, that I probably am not really due until June 1. Um, if this belly …
Maybe today?
Mallory woke up this morning and saw my belly and “it’s big, mommy”.
Then she pulled up my shirt and said “hi Baby Arlo!”.
And then she said “GET OUT BABY ARLO! Get out!!”
All while I was standing there trying not to laugh.
