See Wednesday’s post for my status.
I did have a trip to Triage last night but will post about that later.

37+ week update and Miserable Mallory
Well, two days of pre-baby maternity leave down and not much relaxing yet.
I had my weekly NST and OB appointment on Monday and I took Mallory with me. Mallory was too cute telling everyone about Baby Arlo in my tummy and alternating between telling everyone it was a boy or a girl. We got to see Arlo on the ultrasound screen but I don’t know if Mallory really understood what we were looking at. Baby is still head down (good) and was SUPER active (good for the doctors, not good for my uterus) so we got to skip the …
It’s not my imagination
I really am bigger now than I was at 40w with Mallory. Photographs don’t lie (36w with Arlo is on the left, 40w with Mallory is on the right). I think my belly looks rounder in the picture from 2006 but it’s still not as big as the picture on the left.
And if that wasn’t proof enough – my dad did the math.
That was FAST!
Holy cow this week went FAST! All of a sudden it’s Saturday morning and I’m 37+ weeks prego.
Here’s the recap.
You all know about my doctor’s appointment Monday – but the newer news related to that is:
my insurance won’t extend my physical therapy benefit for another month to allow me to see my physical therapist for my pregnancy-related back pain. I’m not sure I really understand how if pregnancy lasts MORE than 60 days, can they restrict the coverage to 60 calendar days of treatment. Additionally, I am allowed either 15 or 30 actual sessions during that 60 days, …
36w3d Baby Arlo update
Just real quick – had my weekly appointment today and non-stress test. Baby Arlo looked fabulous on the monitor, nice heart accelerations, etc. I am nervous that EVERY.SINGLE.PERSON who has observed this baby on an ultrasound or monitor has commented on how active the baby is.
Anyway, the nurse was reading over the little printout thing that the monitor spits out and said something like “…I see some contractions…”. I was like “WHAT THE $%&#??” I haven’t felt much of anything contractions-wise ever since I quadrupled my water intake after my trip to triage back in January. Plus, I’ve resigned …
Four more weeks
I am 36 weeks pregnant today. That means I am nine months pregnant. But I still have four more weeks (one more month) left. So in case you hadn’t heard, pregnancy is TEN MONTHS, not nine.
It’s getting weird to be getting to close to the end. In some ways I feel like we are less prepared for this baby to come than we were with Mallory. Sure I have some clothes in the dresser and have a package of newborn diapers ready to go, but other than that – nothin’. I don’t have my bag packed, still no set …
A present for Baby Arlo
This conversation is a redo of one we had just moments earlier (I really need to just run a video camera all of the time). So although it seems as though I am prompting Mallory to answer, she actually said all of these things by herself the first time.
Here is the transcript of Mallory’s contribution to this conversation:
“Baby Arlo have my jammies and go night-nights in Baby Arlo’s crib”
“And I have present for you, your bear (it’s actually the puppy blankie I showed you a few weeks back) and my bear. OK? Ok.”
“You come out and have your present, OK? …
35w3d Update
Had an appointment this morning (I have started my weekly appointments, OMG!).
Everything looks great – they took at look at the baby via ultrasound and Arlo was breathing and hiccuping and punching away. S/he was more quiet that normal so they almost had to strap on the monitoring things to make sure s/he was moving enough but I guess the nurse saw enough that we got to skip that exercise.
My fluid is 18 (whatever that means) and my blood pressure was good. My weight is 2.5 lbs less than it was at my very last doctor’s appointment with Mallory so …
I must be getting sort of big…
…because the “oh my – when are you due?” questions are starting to come pretty frequently!
I pway with Daddy…I go night-night
Funny story from Tuesday (not sure why I always tell you “…a funny story…” since most things I share here could start with that beginning…but whatever).
Anyway, while eating dinner on Tuesday, we gave Mallory the schedule for the rest of the night (I’d read that it’s good to let her know what to expect). So we said we were going to finish eating, and then take a bath, and then she could play with dad, and then it was night-night time.
Well, bath took a little longer than normal so we got her in her jammies and Rick read …
