We hit the 32 week mark last Friday…I have a follow-up appointment tomorrow to check to make sure things aren’t progressing past the one centimeter dilation I had last week. I have been feeling really good the past week to here’s to hoping all is well.
The baby continues to punch & kick the crap out of my uterus and it’s getting really annoying. Rick finally got to see an elbow or knee or something jut out and run across (or is it under?) my belly and that really grossed him out. I always tell him that since I have to …

Well, that was fun. For fake.
I had a doctor’s appointment Monday, not with my favorite Dr B, but with one of the doctors in her former group. The medical assistant who took my blood pressure, etc, asked how I was doing and I told her about Dr B’s concerns about my “uterine activity”; the MA asked if I wanted to be checked (for dilation) and I told her that if this doctor thought it was necessary, then that would be fine. Well, in walked the unfriendly doctor – she saw I was undressed from the waist down, and barely asked questions, and then she checked …
Baby Arlo update – 30 weeks
I just realized that I haven’t given a Baby Arlo update in a few weeks.
Last week I was having some weird pains. Last Sunday morning (1/11) I woke up with two very painful contractions/cramps, like I had to ball up and not breathe for about 10-15 seconds. I had another one on Monday morning. Later in the week I was having some different kind of pains and after checking with Dr Google on the internets, determined I was having Braxton-Hicks contractions.
I talked to my doctor last Thursday (1/15) and she said not to classify them as Braxton-Hicks or …

Ok, I’ve already posted this before but I know there are some blog readers out there who haven’t voted yet.

Slacker!
Um, I was scolding a fellow friend & blogger for having gone so long between posts and I think that I have been absent longer than she has. Oops!! OK, I just checked, we are tied (last post for both of us was January 6).
But, I don’t know what to blog about this week. It’s been such a normal (i.e. BORING) week that while Mallory continues to send me into hysterics with her constant chatter, nothing has stood out as being blog-worthy, because if it was, you’d have read about it here. I don’t think I’ve taken any pictures this …
Baby Arlo – 28 weeks
I had a doctor’s appointment today; and because I mentioned to my doctor that I was feeling “huge” (meaning I couldn’t reach down to scratch my foot), she said to meet her in the ultrasound clinic and we’d do a quick fetal growth scan. Sweet!
Baby Arlo is measuring 3lbs, 4ozs, which is in the 80th percentile. Some of the measurements she was doing showed I was measuring 31-ish weeks…and I’m only 28-ish weeks. That made me mildly nervous but Dr B was not worried at all. The baby is also breech right now and she is also not worried about …
Monday Moanings
I had my first physical therapy appointment this morning. Because it was walk-in only for the first visit, I had to show up at 7a and then I had the first real appointment of the day at 8.30a. Luckily the hospital has wireless so I grabbed their world-famous pancakes and then worked from the cafeteria for an hour.
Of course my back has been feeling much better and when the appointment started, I felt like an idiot when I told the therapist that my pain today was a one on a scale of 1-10. But she did some pushing around …
24 week photos
Oy. Holy huge. Here is my 24w photo:
And here is the progression to date:
Post title TBD
Well, so far this week the only exciting things that happened are that we got a DVR in our bedroom (I’m thinking forward to when I’ll be in bed a lot with the new baby next spring, resting, while Rick takes care of Mallory!) and a new DVR in our living room (the old one conked out…I lost about 10 episodes of Little People, Big World…dammit Jim). But the most exciting thing is that I got to out to dinner with some friends last night – without my family! Not that I didn’t miss them terribly during the inhalation of …
Mama, come cuddle me
Just as I sat down to the computer tonight to do some (apparently) long overdue blogging, I was thinking I would go with the boring “Weekend Review” title that I seem to use after somewhat uneventful weekends. But then Rick called me to the side door to show me something, and Mallory – who should be asleep but was at least quiet in her room – heard us and came to her door and said four little words that shattered my usual “shut up and go to sleep go night-night” resolve.
“Mama, come cuddle me.”
I mean SERIOUSLY. How do I …
