Again, another quick post. I am disappointed that these aren’t more journaly but oh well. Here goes:
Coming home from school today, Mallory saw a house lit up with Christmas lights. From the back seat of the car she yelled, “LOOK – IT’S PRETTY!!!!”
Also on our way home from school – I asked Mallory what she thought Cooper was doing right then. Her response? “Eating my gocks (socks)”.
Cooper has a bad habit of running past us to get down the stairs and I’m afraid that one of these days he is going to knock Mallory over. He almost did …

Pregnancy Update (23w3d)
Baby Arlo is advanced already! This is the info from my 23w email I got: ”…now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, and you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes…” (note – the use of “she” here is babycenter (dot) com’s doing, not mine…do not read anything into it…next week it will refer to the baby as a “he”).
Anyway – the email says that at 23 weeks we MAY be able to see the baby squirm under my clothes. But seeing as how I saw the baby squirm …
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving
Yes, a boring post title and I swear that more than half of the blogs in my Google Reader have had that same post title (well, without the belated part) and I swore I was going to be way more creative than that but then here I am, using the boring post title. My whole family is still sleeping right now so I need to quick post while I have peace and quiet.
To make up for the boring post title, I will show you a video of a sweet little girl wishing you a happy holiday:

Weekend Review
Mallory had swim class Friday night and with Rick out of town, I enlisted grandpa to come get in the water with Mallory so I didn’t have to. The class is unbelievably unstructured and un-instructured (you KNOW I’ll be calling again on Monday) so it was basically 30 minutes of playtime for Mallory & my dad – not that either of them minded. Mallory had the hugest smile on her face the entire class so even if she didn’t learn the butterfly stroke I guess it wasn’t a total loss. We had dinner at Miss Cheri & Scary Larry’s house …
22-week-Eve
Here we are on the eve of 22 weeks. My lower back has been having some issues (like sharp stabbing pain) and my right ankle continues to blow up like crazy by the end of the day, so those are both fun. At least my heartburn is under control, thanks to the Zan.tac.
The baby is moving like CRAZY; it’s seems as though once I could feel it move all bets are off! I think s/he had hiccups today because I was feeling spaced out movements that would be consistent with hiccups.

Arlo Update
Had a doctor’s appointment today with the Great Dr B. Everything looks great – the only thing I was scolded about was not exercising. She made me promise to do my Prenatal Yoga DVD every Saturday and try to increase from there (I am guessing she wasn’t impressed when I said the only exercise I got was carrying Mallory up the stairs…). She had a hard time finding Arlo’s heartbeat with the doppler – but I wasn’t worried since I was feeling the baby move all morning. The doctor had to slide that thingy across my stomach for about 30 …
Video of Arlo kicking me
At about 22 seconds in, look ~11 o’clock. You can see my blue shirt jump out. The baby will kick a few more times in that same spot.
(Sorry you have to mostly watch the heaving of my big tummy while I breathe – it’s hard to hold my breath these days!)
Oh, and I was thinking on my drive in to work today “hmmm, the baby is quiet this morning” and then I started playing Amy Winehouse and now the baby hasn’t stopped moving for an hour. Either Arlo hates or loves Amy Winehouse!
Arlo’s Gold Medal
Oh.
My.
GOD.
This baby of mine in my tummy is doing some Olympic gymnastics or something and it is KILLING me. It doesn’t hurt but it is way annoying! Doesn’t s/he know that this is quiet time in our house? It isn’t “play quiet” (ie, the code word for roughhousing back when I was little) time.
The baby is 21w3d today and we have our next doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning! Time is going really fast overall but it seems as though each day slowly crawls along. At my last appointment, the Great Dr B told me I could have another big ultrasound …

Rick felt Baby Arlo move today!!
Halfway there!
Holy fast – I can’t believe we are 20 weeks already – and since pregnancy is 40 weeks, that means that we are halfway through this pregnancy. And since Mallory was a week late, today we are 20.5-ish weeks along, I really am halfway through :-) We have our next appointment next Tuesday – stay tuned for that update.
Here are my 20-week belly pictures and the belly progress pictures!
