Well, according to some websites, I will be in my second trimester tomorrow! Some say you don’t start the second trimester until the end of your 12th week. But we don’t like those websites.
We don’t have our first OB appointment until next Thursday. I am quickly remembering how my first pregnancy was measured in four-week increments between doctor’s appointments. Thursday – hurry up & get here already!!
I have been feeling pretty good. I think my tiredness is starting to go away but I’ve been having general yucky feelings this week but I am blaming that on the travel and different …
Here is baby Arlo’s 10w-6d portrait.
(This may be a little too much information for some [or all] of you but feel it’s important for the permanent record since I would have written about this in a baby book so I might as well write about it here. )
Last Friday was 11 weeks. I had a test on Thursday to check chromosomal things – so now we start another two-week-wait for those results. The doctor who did the procedure was the same one who delivered Mallory and I love him to death (Dr VDV). He is also the same doctor who sprung my triplet-bearing friend Jennifer …
This is what is going on this week.
Your baby is growing incredibly rapidly right now. She is approximately 1.75 to 2.4 inches (4.4 to 6cm) when measured from crown to rump. She will double her length in the next three weeks. Your growing baby weighs about 0.3 ounces (8g).
The neck is developing and the chin lifts up from the chest. Fingernails are also present. While your baby’s sex was already determined at the time of fertilization, male or female genitalia are now visible. Essential organs are formed and most have begun to function. The blood vessels in the placenta are …
Here are the pictures from my 9-week ultrasound. The second one is a 3D scan – pretty spooky looking, eh?
Except I get another ultrasound tomorrow morning. I had a heck of an afternoon/evening yesterday (click here for the story) and was super uncomfortable all evening & night yesterday. I could barely stand up straight. I called the doctor; since I am feeling fine today and I haven’t had any bleeding she was sure all was fine but they offered to let me come in for an ultrasound in the morning. Who am I to turn it down?
So I get to sleep in a little bit AND will get to see my baby!
I am trying really hard to get the …
Friday marked 8 weeks and we had another ultrasound on Thursday (7w6d). Baby looked GREAT – heartbeat was 170bpm. Can’t upload the picture right now but will later. :-)
Pregnancy continues to be unremarkable. Just general being tired and some heartburn but nothing unmanageable.
Well, so far this pregnancy is progressing much like Mallory’s did. No real “morning” sickness but just some general blahs if I’m not careful enough to eat often. The heartburn has kicked in already – I think a little earlier than it did the first time (I ended up prescription heartburn meds at the end last time – that was horrible). And Rick said my snoring has already gotten out of control – apparently he could hear me snoring in our bed when he left his hockey game (in Ann Arbor) the other night. Asshole.
I don’t think I’m “showing” just …
