Today is the day that Rick can no longer wear Nike to work.
So today he came downstairs in his new Adidas-wear and I put Mallory in her Adidas tennis dress.
I’ll point out that Rick still had on a Nike watch, Nike glasses, Nike underwear and Nike socks.

Slip-Sliding
It is sort of a little bit really hot this week so Mallory & Rick went for a dip after dinner. Mallory loves this slide but for some reason was afraid of it at first tonight. She would reach for Rick before she would even start sliding down the slide:
But then she got a little braver and at least started down the slide by herself:
Here she is being sassy and sticking her tongue out at me (she is still too cute even when she is being sassy!):
And finally she didn’t even wait for Rick to be at …
Three whole years!
Today is our three-year anniversary. Three years ago right now I was boogying to the Electric Slide with my MOM (!) during my wedding reception, and Rick was probably in a corner trying to find a way to stay off the dance floor :-)
Rick & I celebrated tonight with dinner out at Outback. Lest you think we are unromantic (which we sort of are) it worked out good for the both of us. I was craving a blooming onion and Rick could eat about three loaves of that dark bread they bring out (not to mention that he loves the …
I got yelled at by my husband :-(
The past few nights Mallory has had some sleeping problems. I don’t know if it was because her schedule was so wacky from our weekend trip or it could be that her second molars are starting to come in, but she will go down for bed fine but about an hour later she is up SCREAMING for me. I am not so good at getting her to lie back down (or is it lay?); Rick can usually go in and tell her to go back to sleep and she will. But I can’t stand seeing her face all blotchy and …
I'm so proud of my husband
My husband isn’t very good at reading my mind and he isn’t so great at giving me foot rubs but I was SO proud of him yesterday when he finished his triathlon. I had tears in my eyes as he crossed the line and I started running down to see him, completely forgetting to keep an eye on Mallory.
find the dark blue hat with the white block M on it…a little left of center of the picture.
The race was supposed to start at 7.15a but was delayed an hour because of fog on Lake Michigan. Mallory & I slept …
Mine!!
When we were at Disney in May, we rode the Finding Nemo ride. Seeing as how Mallory was only 18 months old at the time, we haven’t had to get into Disney stuff just yet. Out in front of the ride, they had those birds from the movie (I think they were seagulls?) saying “MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE”. It was pretty funny even though we’d never seen the movie. Mallory got a kick out of them, kneeling down to watch them under the fence.
Well, Mallory’s new word at home is “MINE!”. Whenever she sees something she wants, she yells …
To hell & back
Ever since we learned that one of the guys on the recent season of Survivor was from the town next to us, and that he worked at the local ice cream shop, we have been meaning to check it out. The ice cream place is in a city called Hell and the shop is decked out like a Halloween store. Mallory got herself some Superman ice cream, and perfected her “more bite” as she inhaled the goods.

This is the sweetest little picture.
I was all ready to put Mallory in the bathtub when Rick got home from …
Happy 4th of July!
Ok, so it’s not a real original blog post title but oh well.
Our long holiday weekend started off on Thursday. Thanks to some monster storms that blew through Wednesday night, daycare was without power on Thursday. Rick was already scheduled for a vacation day, and had grand plans of biking, kayaking and windsurfing, but they got squashed just like the fence in our back yard did by the storms. And then it got worse for him when I volunteered him for Alli duty too, since Alli’s folks didn’t have anyone to watch her. :-)
The girls got to see each other …
Hell YEAH I’ll have some ice cream!
Stories out of order but this is the funniest so I have to share first.
Out to dinner tonight (more on that later)…I ordered dessert (Gra.eter’s Chocolate Chocolate Chip ice cream)…asked Mallory if she wanted some and offered her the spoon. She shook her head and said “noooooo” (I think she thought I was trying to sneak her some more sweet potatoes). Then Rick’s mom said “you don’t want any ice cream?”
Apparently “ice cream” is a magic word in Mallory’s world. She whipped her head back around to face me and opened her mouth up wide…took a bite and got a …
Happy Firefly Spotting Day!

Had a fun boat cruise tonight. The weather has been so Michigan-y lately (ie – beautiful during the day and storms starting at about 5p) that we haven’t been out on the boat all week. For as crazy as life has been the past 2-3 weeks with Rick’s work schedule, it was nice to just hang out. It was hot enough that Rick & Mallory jumped in for a quick swim and we realized that Mallory’s life jacket (aka “Boat Coat” – I am so clever!) …
