Let me start by saying that the cowbells were obnoxious before we even got to the tailgate. The Mississippi State fans were ringing them all around downtown Jacksonville for days leading up to the game.
We had the nicest weather of the week for gameday – I made sure to sunscreen up the kids and we headed off to the stadium with the standard police escort. And nope, still doesn’t get old.

Our trip to Florida has been rather uneventful. The weather was SUPER yucky the beginning of the week so we hunkered down in the hotel and didn’t do much (like 30s and super windy, which I realize isn’t very cold, but it was cold since I didn’t bring our winter coats…)
Wednesday I was invited to go on the official wives’ trip to St Augustine. We got to have lunch and do a trolley tour of the city, and then we had some time to shop. That night I met a friend for dinner (Hi Amy!); it was awesome to eat …
I finally got to have Rick be my date for a game in the Big House when Michigan & Michigan State played hockey earlier this month. Rick is such a tailgating novice – he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to have a beer as we walked to our friend’s tailgate!
Then when we got to the stadium, I had to take his picture on the steps, because OH.MY.GOSH it was his FIRST GAME! I’m pretty sure I really embarrassed him by taking this picture.

Cooper was BEYOND need of a bath, and if you have a dog, you know that the hair from a dog bath is INSANE (especially when you don’t brush the dog regularly…). I refused to let the kids’ bathtub also be the dog washing bathtub, and I FOR SURE wasn’t going to wash him in our bathtub, so Mallory & I took him to the Dog-O-Mat.
Cooper wasn’t very thrilled with being put in the tall bathtub, but lucky for me, they have leash connectors up there so he was tethered in place.

I sometimes wish I’d started blogging back when I was younger, even though I don’t think blogging existed back then. I feel that my escapades with the ice capades1 and other debauchery would have made for good reads when my kids got a lot older and they’d get to see that I wasn’t always just a mom. I suppose my pre-kid scrapbooks will assist with that, but it’s not the same as the blog.

Back when I posted the second picture on this post, I realized that I needed to get one of all four of us in our blue & white striped shirts/dresses/onsies.
It took me until November to get the picture taken (how dumb was it for me to wait until it was freezing out to take a picture of us in our short sleeves, etc), but I present to you three generations of blue & white stripes.
In an attempt to get a jump on our holiday cards, and to take advantage of some decent November weather, I dragged everyone up to the park for a family photo session.
I had the tripod and the self-timer, but no way to get the kids (especially Carson) to look at the camera, so I asked three 10-ish year old boys who were walking through the park if they’d mind jumping around behind my camera so M & C would look in the direction. We were talking today about how the football games start in a few weeks, and Mallory said “GO BLUE!” and then she said “GO BUCKEYES!”
I whipped my head around and said “WHAT did you just say?”
“I don’t know”, Mallory replied.
Then she asked “Is that a bad word?”
Rick & I both asked her what she said and she quietly said “Go Buckeyes”, and we had to tell her that yes, that was a very bad word and she better not say it if she wants to go to any football games.

We are in the midst of my move, and I just incurred yet another injury. Earlier this week I’d pinched some fingers, and then Friday night I pinched my ring finger of my right hand so badly (in the hotel-like security lock [where the bar loops over the ball thing on the door]) that I split the you-know-what out of my finger. I’m still trying to decide if I need stitches. It’s black and blue and red all over. Gross.
Today my dad is over helping us (or rather we are assisting my dad) install a storm/screen door. So since our …
