We spent our last day in California at the beach. (We were in Indian Wells for a week for a work gig for me – I think I haven’t really told this story in order. oh well).
Continuing on – our last day in California we drove to the beach. Mallory was NOT impressed with the big waves and would freak out when I started to get my feet near the water. I LOVE these pictures that Rick took of the kids and me checking out the surf. The water was freezing but I felt I just had to dip my …

Happy New Hair!*
We spent New Years Day 2010 watching football. Unfortunately for us, Rick was watching football with us again this year.
There’s always next year.
ANY-way. My dad invited us over to my sister’s for dinner on New Years Day, and seeing as how we were looking at having pizza for the 3rd night that week, we happily accepted!
For some reason, I took pictures of all of us at the table. And in case you were wondering, my brother-in-law really does have a face (he’s not like Wilson from Home Improvement).
After a great dinner, we rocked out to Rock Band…at …
Mr John’s Yard
Our neighbor has some pretty yellow leaves in his yard – Mals & I headed over there the other day to take some pictures. And I got the “mote” control out so I could take pictures of me with Mallory.
Showing me how old she is going to be in TWO weeks!
Me & my girl
Probably more I could post but it’s late and I’m tired.
Show Us Your Life – Tailgates and Favorite Teams
WARNING – THIS IS A VERY LONG BLOG POST!!!
One of the blogs I follow (Kelly’s Korner) has a regular “Show us your life” blog carnival, where she invites her readers to, well, show our life. Kelly is from the south and is a big Arkansas fan and it’s been fun to read how they do tailgating and football, etc, so when she had this theme, I just had to do a post about how “we” do it up here at Michigan! Plus, I don’t have my pre-baby life displayed on this blog anywhere, you know the stuff from when I …
Chipmunk Cheeks
This week’s theme is “baby pics” and I think I share enough photos of my kids here on this blog so I wanted to share one of my baby/toddler photos.
My favorite thing about this picture is that the can next to me is probably my dad’s Schlitz.
So this is me at about 2-ish I think. I won’t tell you the year ;-)
Fins
I went to see Jimmy Buffett with my dad last week. He’d never been, and I’ve only been once before, so we justified the insane price of the tickets by saying it was a once (or twice) in a lifetime event.
We got a late start but figured we’d be OK since everyone was supposed to be there tailgating all day before the concert; surely no one would be rolling in at 6.30p for the 8p concert so we should have avoided any traffic. Great plan except it was rush hour(s) in Detroit. And there were some other people who didn’t …
Things a mom has to do when dad isn’t around.
I consider myself a pretty fun mom.
Well, maybe I’m just a mom who used to be fun because I realized how much I do NOT like getting dirty or wet or whatever when Mallory wants to play.
So this weekend, when Mallory wanted to go swimming, I actually had to get in the water, because how can I expect her to get in the water if mom is whining “it’s too cooooold”? And when she wanted to “tickle my back”, I couldn’t say no because I didn’t want to get my hair wet – especially since I was trying …
Happy Mini-Friday
The weeks are flying by. How is it already June 18?
I started a new job at work. Rather, I still have my old job responsibilities but I was given a whole another person’s job responsibilities. Time will tell if this results in a nice raise for me. Don’t hold your breath. I’m not. I am in charge of all the ordering of materials for all of the projects at the hospital, as well as receiving the material and processing invoices. So the new job has me interacting with the tradespeople all day every day and that, combined with my three …
Out of Focus
I got a new toy today…a new lens for my camera! It is a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II – and I first heard about it here (she takes some of the most awesome-ist photos of her kids…)
So, what can I do with this fancy lens? I should share that the only thing I remember from my photography class from last year is to keep the Aperture dialed way down. Or up. I can never remember. I think I want it dialed up which means I have a low number. Confusing, huh? Me too.
Anywho – here is my …
Some fancy pictures
While it pains me to pay money to have someone else take pictures of my kids, we have to bite the bullet occasionally in order to get a family photo.
Here are some pictures we had done back in May – Carson was ~6wks old here.
I really think I can take pictures like this of my family & friends. Anyone want to be my guinea pig?
