Well, we didn’t make it to the apple orchard, the pumpkin farm, the zoo or get any yardwork done or go on a hayride. But we had a fun family day none-the-less.

I'm back!
I made it home from Austin and successfully avoided the hurricane that was heading that way.
Here is what has happened last week:
Cooper usually went to my dad’s house for the day. One day when Rick & Mallory went to pick him up after bootball practice, Mallory and my dad got into an argument about who’s name is Mimi. My dad kept pointing to himself saying “Grandpa!” and then pointing at Mallory saying “MIMI!” and Mallory would get SO MAD and would point at him and say “NO – YOU MIMI!”. My dad said this went on for a few minutes …
Segways are AWESOME!
Our Segway tour of downtown Austin yesterday was so much fun. It was a little hard at first, just to figure out your balance on how to not over-compensate with your balance but we all were pros after a brief practice.
Our tour guide took us on a 2+ hour tour; we were able to see quite a bit of the sights but obviously the highlight was successfully riding the Segways. My co-worker has tons of pictures that I’ll be able to post once she gets home and shares them with me.

Reports from home are that Mallory isn’t even asking where I am anymore. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose. But I am happy to hear Rick is doing well in his Mr. Mom role this week.

Mallory can finally stand up (with her head above water) at the sandbar on our lake. We went out yesterday with my sister’s kids and she wanted her boat coat off so off it came and I was surprised to see that she could touch. She had SO.MUCH.FUN. jumping around with Shane & Lauren. Up North, 2008
Well, we made it back from our trip up north. O.M.G. how exhausting. Mallory is NON-STOP and I don’t know if she was pushing it just because my mom was there and she thought she could get away with it or what but she was out of control. She was still a very good little girl but when it came time for diaper changes or getting dressed, she would run away from me LAUGHING.

Today is our three-year anniversary. Three years ago right now I was boogying to the Electric Slide with my MOM (!) during my wedding reception, and Rick was probably in a corner trying to find a way to stay off the dance floor :-)
