Mallory continued on with dance class this fall, and while her little tap/ballet class didn’t make the cut for the holiday recital, they still put on a little show for the parents on the last day of class before the Christmas break.
Have to say that she takes after her mama when it comes to dance class. I *always* had to be behind someone else because I could never remember the steps. It was a bad day when I was late to ballet and had to be at the end of the barre because when we faced the direction that made …

…and here’s the video
Here is the video of Carson playing with his football guys.
Enjoy.
Thunderstorms and scary stories
I know I might portray my kids as being sunshine and fairy tales all day every day. Truth be told, they get along pretty well most of the time.
So when this happened today, my first response was that I needed to take a picture so that I could document my kids fighting.
I think it started because Carson wanted to sit on the little bench, and then Mallory decided she wanted to too, and then Carson decided he did NOT want his sister to sit next to him, because then Mallory started hollering “CARSON ISN’T SHARING”. (These pictures aren’t great because …
Get You
This video is from November but it cracks me up.
I love his lobster claw pinching!
And I really love how he bends over laughing at himself.
And I really really love him.
There’s A Wocket in my Pocket
It’s hard for me to believe, but my baby boy has some strong opinions on books already. His recent faves are There’s a Wocket in my Pocket and Harry the Dirty Dog. If he happens to be walking down the hall and finds a random book on the floor, he’ll pop-a-squat right then & there and “read” the book (or if you are nearby, he’ll walk over to you, say something to you in Carsonese until you sit down, and then he’ll back up on to your lap so you can read it to him). Oh, are you (MOM) wondering why I …
Mallory’s DRob Song
I was putzing around in the kitchen this afternoon while Carson napped and Rick ran errands.
Mallory was sitting on the couch playing with who knows what and was quietly singing to herself. I grabbed my camera and requested an encore.
In case you are interested in the lyrics:
Denard Robinson is my favorite quarterback, he is he is!
I always love him, I love him,
He’s my favorite quarterback.
PS – We are thoroughly enjoying our bye week :-)
A lost video – Mallory at 2+ years
I seem to find these a lot when I’m browsing my computer, trying to clean up miscellaneous files.
Mallory is about 28 months old in this video, about 1.5 months away from meeting her new sibling, and couldn’t have been cuter.
Enjoy.
It’s long, but worth it (at least for the grandparents).
That’s my dad!
Rick got some air time today during the Michigan game; I had to replay it for Carson to see what he’d do when he saw Rick on TV.
I’m so glad I recorded it. LOL.
Dance it up!
The kids and I got new music this week, courtesy of Miss Header.
Enjoy.
(And yes I realize that the song from the second video needs to come out of the rotation for the kids…Mallory learns songs too quickly for me to allow her to get this one in her head, even though the bad word is sort of rubbed out.)
Noisy Shoes
Mallory graduated to pre-ballet & tap this summer (from her regular old creative movement dance class she was in last year).
They alternate weeks of ballet & tap and you know I keep the tap shoes in the car lest I forget what week we are on and don’t have them with us.
Today was the last day of class so we asked (and were granted) permission to watch class. And because I’m *that mom*, I had my camera.
Good thing, because if I hadn’t brought my camera – who would have gotten a picture of Mallory’s super-wedgie?
And we wouldn’t have this picture …
