Mallory started rock climbing class last week with her friend Cafrine & Cafrine’s brother. It’s an hour long and the moms were concerned about it being an hour long…but the kids all LOVE it.
Shocker of all shockers, I didn’t have my camera with me last week, and an even bigger shocker – I didn’t bring it this week either. But at least this week I didn’t bring Carson so I could watch more of the class and I was able to shoot some video and some pictures with my phone.
Last week I asked Mallory if she wore a belt and …

My Mobile Baby Boy!
The video speaks for itself…
Carson’s been taking some steps for the past few weeks but just this past weekend he’s really started walking for real. He seems to do it more when we aren’t egging him on – apparently my “Look at him go!!!” cheer scares him. Especially because now Mallory will get him up on his feet to make him walk, and then SHE yells “LOOK AT YOU GO!!!!”
I think crawling is still his preferred mode of transportation but we’re having fun watching him learn his new skill.
Johnny Willow
Do you have a song that your dad used to sing all the time when you were little? Like ALL.THE.TIME? Hopefully you do and I’m not the only one.
Well, Johnny Willow is that song for me. My dad used to sing it a million times when we’d drive up north and back every other weekend in the summer. Sometimes he’d change the words to include my 4th grade “boyfriend” (“Jordy Gray was a soldier…” and “…her name was Sammie T”). My sister recited the song for her 5th grade forensics contest. And my dad recorded himself singing it for me …
My Sweet Beach Boy
Carson is enjoying his first “beach” experience. This resort has an awesome pool with a little sandy area next to the pool, and then it is like a ramp into the water, so my sweet boy can crawl right in. Sounds good, eh? Carson getting himself into the water? Um, not so good because at 9 months he isn’t smart enough to know to *stop* when his mouth starts to go under water. So Carson at the pool/beach involves a lot of us laughing, then grabbing him and moving him to shallower water, over & over again.
So – I have …
Kisses for Mama
I haven’t shared a fun video of my sweet boy lately; here he is playing with one of his new Christmas presents and it ends by giving his mama some loving. It’s pretty funny how the baby open mouth kisses are so gross unless they are from your own baby, and then they are the best thing in the whole world.
* * *
Side note – my sweet boy has an ear infection in one ear and fluid in the other, so he’s on antibiotics for the first time. I *just* realized that we should be watching for a reaction to …
Not sure how I missed this one
Found this tonight. Not sure how I missed sharing it before.
Enjoy.
He’s crawling!!
The pediatrician said yesterday that it wouldn’t be long before Carson started actually crawling…
For as much as Mallory is laughing about Carson crawling, I have a feeling that when he starts moving to grab her toys, she’s not going to think it’s very funny.
Sweet Baby Carson
My whole family, except Carson, slept in today so Carson & I had some fun playing time by the early light of day. Watch as he tries to copy what I’m doing.
I have decided that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this age of almost 6 months. Carson is able to sit up, roll all over the place and semi-scoot his way around – which means he is able to entertain himself for a good amount of time. Yesterday at the tailgate, he hung out on the blanket alone for at least 15 minutes, just watching people walk by and playing …
Mallory on Film
I got her hooked on rhyming by singing the Name Game with her. Then she proceeded to rhyme EVERYTHING for a couple of weeks. I think we’re over it now, but here she is singing the song a couple weeks ago.
And – in case you needed to know how to spell Mallory…
My little Buffett fan
Mallory is all about Jimmy Buffett’s “Volcano”, telling me “I want the ‘I DON’T KNOW’ song” and she loves the song “Fins”. Here she is doing the Fins dance!
We were at my dad’s the other day and my dad put Buffett on and Mallory started telling my dad “Hey! We have this (music) at MY house!!”
