I have added a new page at the top (Boy or Girl?) for everyone to be able to follow along with my “symptoms”, so I can have some people to co-obsess with me over whether I am having a boy or a girl. I know that this obsession could be easily solved by just finding out right now what we are having but it’s way more fun to annoy my mom & my mother-in-law (and Deetza and Triplet-Jen and many more) by not finding out! There will also be a link to the official Baby Arlo poll on the right …
Oh how I love that girl
Last night at about 10.30p I heard a ruckus downstairs. Being the tired mom that I am I figured that if someone was breaking in, the dog would bark. And if it was Mallory, I would soon hear “hi momma!”. So I decided that I would stay in bed until it was clearer what I would find if I actually got out of bed to investigate.
Well, I didn’t hear either of those things. Instead I heard my sweet baby girl whimper at the bottom of the steps. I ran down the stairs to see her lit up by the little …
Weekend Review (10/05/08)
Here is our weekend:
We had swim class on Friday night, which is really open swim while a pimple-faced kid gets paid to take attendance. Of course this annoys the ever-living-crap out of me, almost to the point that I will let Rick take Mallory by himself and I’ll stay home and pretend that the teacher is actually teaching. I should be happy that he & Mallory get 30 minutes of playtime and enjoy the laughter and giggles that I hear from the pool and it’s not as though she is really going to learn how to swim since she is …
Smarty Pants
Mallory “reading” a book with Rick:
Mallory counting to five (she can really count to ten all by herself but gets performance anxiety when the camera is on):
Laundry
That is my excuse for my hiatus from blogging. I finally got a month’s worth of laundry put away. It had to be done.
Well, the good news is that just because I haven’t been blogging doesn’t mean that Mallory isn’t doing anything funny. And JUST as I typed this she did something REALLY funny and those pictures are downloading…stay tuned.
We have these big floor pillows that we prefer to keep stacked up in a corner. I don’t think Rick and I have ever used them for anything but they are from back in my olden days and I have memories …
Remember this post?
Remember the “Can’t Wait…” post?
Well, it sort of happened last night.

Notice his Minnie Mouse ears, fun blue & yellow beads and fancy football bracelet. And you can’t ignore the “are you kidding me?” look on Rick’s face. He was sooo mad that I took his picture – LMAO!

Whenever my niece or nephew are around, Rick is always trying to get them to walk on his back (hey, whatever floats his boat).
But then he realized that Mallory is ready to start her back-walking:

Only problem is that there wasn’t …
Just some stuff for the memory book
I have a few random stories that I need to get preserved before I forget them:
Mallory has started doing this little fake “haha!” when she’s playing. I must get it on video.
At the “bootball” game on Saturday, Mallory was making her little baby clap hands and give high-fives to my mom.
I am trying to get Mallory to actually say FOOTball and not BOOTball, so I’ll ask her to say foot, which she does, and then I ask her to say ball, which she does, but when I ask her to say FOOTBALL, she usually responds with BEETBALL – because normally …
The Pinecone Hunters
Mallory & I had a little field trip today to visit my pregnant friend Jen and her family (son Kyle & husband Ed). Jen is knocked up with triplets and is scheduled to deliver them in a couple of weeks. I haven’t seen her in real life since she was newly pregnant so it was a huge shock to see her today! I even got to see her bare belly and I have to admit that her bare tummy is way huger than her shirt-covered belly in her pictures. Wow. She is such a trooper and has a wonderful attitude …
Could today have been any more exciting?
I had a bunch of stuff to write yesterday but didn’t get to it (Mallory saying “eeyo” for “here you go” for one example). And then today Michigan had to go have a game for the record books (biggest comeback for Michigan in Michigan Stadium) so I have a whole bunch of different stuff to write about.
Oh. My. Gosh.
First off, we got to go see Rick on the field before the game.

Then Mallory & Gaga went running for the endzone to make a touchdown (and of course find the M).

And then we …
Wick
It must be an almost 2-yr old thing, because I just read on a friend’s blog that her almost 2-yr old son has started saying her first name instead of Mom.
Mallory is doing the same thing but with Rick. She’ll stand in the living room and yell “Wick! Wick!”
It makes me laugh.
It makes Rick grumpy.
Which makes me laugh more.
