We had our first OB appointment today :-)   And we ended up getting a quicky ultrasound! Everything looks great and we have our big ultrasound scheduled for October 20.

Baby Arlo, Mallory

She's soooooo ladylike…

September 18, 2008

So, I just went to check on Mallory and this is how I found her:

* * *
Forgot to post that Mallory & I went to see my friend and her 8+ mo old twins. My friend asked Mallory if she wanted to take a baby home with her to get used to having a baby in our house. The whole rest of our visit, Mallory was saying “baby, home?” and we’d ask her which one she wanted to take with us and she’d always point at Jake. And then our whole trip home, she’d ask me “where babies go, mama?”
It’s …

Hmmmmmm….

September 17, 2008

So, Mallory’s new thing is “What dat, Mama, hmmm?”
I am trying to pay attention more when I talk to her to see if she picked it up from me. But it is so funny to hear her say “hmmmm?”.
She also says “K” for OK all the time. It is hysterical. She says it 100 times more than she says yes and it’s another random thing that we are trying to figure out how it made it’s way into her vocabulary.

This week has been somewhat uneventful. Rick didn’t have work Sunday night like he normally does, but did on …

All fixed, and other good news

September 16, 2008

My stupid car is already fixed and we don’t to have to pay a dime for the repairs (since the problem was “most likely” a result of the work the dealer did on it a month ago).
And the dealership is going to reimburse us the $140 towing charges.
(This should be on the Arlo blog but it’s all part of my good news Tuesday so I’ll share here). And, I got the results of our genetics testing and everything is normal. YEAH!!!!!

Since I’m up

September 15, 2008

Rick ran out to get some ice to make smoothies at like 10.30p or whatever and just called to tell me that my H^&T#J()UD)*&#^$^*#(&)&^ car died – like just shut off while he was driving. That it smells like gas, looks like there is a puddle of gas under the car, and that it sounds like gas is pouring out of the engine as he is trying to start it (and I had 3/4 of a tank of $4.50/gallon of gas in there).
Out.Stand.Ing.
He is about two miles from our house. With the dog. Mallory is asleep. So was I.
Have I …

I'm back!

September 14, 2008

I made it home from Austin and successfully avoided the hurricane that was heading that way.
Here is what has happened last week:
Cooper usually went to my dad’s house for the day. One day when Rick & Mallory went to pick him up after bootball practice, Mallory and my dad got into an argument about who’s name is Mimi. My dad kept pointing to himself saying “Grandpa!” and then pointing at Mallory saying “MIMI!” and Mallory would get SO MAD and would point at him and say “NO – YOU MIMI!”. My dad said this went on for a few minutes …

Baby Arlo, Pregnancy

Almost 12 weeks!

September 11, 2008

Well, according to some websites, I will be in my second trimester tomorrow! Some say you don’t start the second trimester until the end of your 12th week. But we don’t like those websites.
We don’t have our first OB appointment until next Thursday. I am quickly remembering how my first pregnancy was measured in four-week increments between doctor’s appointments. Thursday – hurry up & get here already!!
I have been feeling pretty good. I think my tiredness is starting to go away but I’ve been having general yucky feelings this week but I am blaming that on the travel and different …

Memory

September 11, 2008

I saw this on another blog and had to record it here for future reference. It will find it’s way into my real scrapbooks, I promise you that.
Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.
