Our Segway tour of downtown Austin yesterday was so much fun. It was a little hard at first, just to figure out your balance on how to not over-compensate with your balance but we all were pros after a brief practice.
Our tour guide took us on a 2+ hour tour; we were able to see quite a bit of the sights but obviously the highlight was successfully riding the Segways. My co-worker has tons of pictures that I’ll be able to post once she gets home and shares them with me.

11w Picture
Here is baby Arlo’s 10w-6d portrait.
You know what isn’t sweet?
It’s not so fun to be across the country from your darling baby (or so you thought…darling my a$$) and when asked if she misses her mama, she answers “NO!” and starts laughing.
The Road to Arlo
(This may be a little too much information for some [or all] of you but feel it’s important for the permanent record since I would have written about this in a baby book so I might as well write about it here. )
Last Friday was 11 weeks. I had a test on Thursday to check chromosomal things – so now we start another two-week-wait for those results. The doctor who did the procedure was the same one who delivered Mallory and I love him to death (Dr VDV). He is also the same doctor who sprung my triplet-bearing friend Jennifer …
Sweet!!
Just booked a Segway tour of Austin for tomorrow afternoon. How fun is THAT?
Reports from home are that Mallory isn’t even asking where I am anymore. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose. But I am happy to hear Rick is doing well in his Mr. Mom role this week.
UM v Ami
Fun game Saturday. Wasn’t nearly as hot and Michigan won so that is way better than last week. Rick’s dad was in town for the game (and to see Mallory I think!) and it was wonderful how quickly Mallory warmed up to him, since she hasn’t seen him since January 1 and even then it was only for about an hour.
The tailgate started early again this week (8a for those of us who were on time, ahem) and Mallory ruled the tailgate like a pro again. She loves to sit in her Lil Wolverine tailgating chair with her sippy cup …
September 7, 2008
This Saturday was a little better than last – not so hot, Mallory took a nap during the game, Rick got home before Mallory’s bath/bed time AND Michigan won their football game – yeah!! I’ll post the football pictures and stuff under a different post. And there will be a long post on the Arlo blog this week too…stay tuned.

I’m heading to Austin right now (sitting in the Chicago airport, but will be in Austin when this finally gets published). Mallory was cute when I told her I was going on a trip – she kept saying “ME …
Buhbuh, ME!
The latest funny thing to come out of Mallory’s mouth is when she is doing something (brushing her teeth, playing with her sunglasses, etc), she tries to show Cooper what she’s doing and says “Buhbuh, ME!” as in “Hey Cooper, check out what I am doing!”. Cooper never pays any attention to her but it’s still funny to watch her try to show off for him.
And tonight after her bath, she went running into her room and heard Cooper coming up behind her. She stopped at the doorway of her room and held up both of her hands and yelled …
Flashdance
I think it was the movie Flashdance where the chick wore her clothes off the shoulder?
Here is what happens when Mallory tries to finish getting herself dressed:

Phew. I am finally relaxing. Yesterday was hectic with trying to get the laptop back up & running. Then once I got the laptop ready and re-installed the blogging software, I was having blog-publishing issues until 11.20p last night. That’s the engineer’s daughter in me – I couldn’t sleep until I figured it out but I finally gave up when it was two hours past my …
Michigan v Utah – recap
The tailgate started at 10a for the 3.30p kickoff. We got home at 9p. Holy long day.
My 7-yr old nephew was going to come with my dad but turns out Shane didn’t want to come, so my 3-yr old niece came instead (which then made Shane decide he DID want to come – oops). I think my mom & I were thinking my dad was a little nuts to invite Lauren. But turns out my dad wasn’t so dumb – I wonder if he knew that Lauren was going to want to sit with Mallory the whole game?
The girls were …
