My sweet boy has started coming into our bed early every morning (at like 3a). It's pretty cute except the mornings where he doesn't fall right back to sleep. I don't know if it is because he's sick (working on some croup right now) or what, but it is hard when I don't get to fall back a sleep for a while or at all.
This morning he came in and butzied and produced some good snots (also probably due to croup) and then declared it wake up time because the sun was out. I tried explaining that he went …
Christmas Day – 2012
Despite my plan to take pictures of the kids opening all their gifts (I think have that plan every Christmas), I again ended up just letting myself sit back and enjoy the moment instead. So alas, I don’t have any gifts of our hotel room chaos.
But here are a couple that I snapped with my iPhone.
Our hotel Christmas tree. I bought this little tree about 10 years ago when my Great Aunt Marion scolded me for not having a tree in my apartment. This year Rick had it set up with the gifts under the tree when we got to …
Beach Party ~ Christmas Eve Style
After arriving in Florida on 12/23, there was early practice on Monday (for the players, not the families), followed by a party on the beach (for the players and the families). Seeing as how I’m not a fan of playing volleyball, and ladder golf seemed a little dangerous with Carson, I instead took up a spot next to the middle volleyball court where a huge game had developed. It started with a few kids, but then the football players started joining in.
It was Denard and Frank Clark v Dennis Norfleet and Cam Gordon (each team had other players too but …
More Daily Picture Outtakes
Rick is still continuing his taking pictures of the kids every morning tradition. He still isn’t so great at getting the pictures off the camera’s memory card, so when I finally get around to doing it for him, it’s always hysterical to see what goes on next to the giant ruler in the kids’ bathroom every morning.
Here some recent outtakes. We have some pretty funny kids.
Arlo the Elf
Our elf has gotten pretty sassy this holiday season. After spending a week or so quietly hanging out on top of our Christmas tree and on top of our blinds – he has started to get naughty.
First – he took the dry erase marker from our fridge and drew all over the pictures in our hallway.
Mallory then started writing letters to Santa and Arlo.
The other morning I came downstairs and found this. Arlo had taken the toilet paper from the bathroom and totally tee-peed our first floor (see him with the end of the tp on top …
Hangman with a kid who can’t spell. Or write.
Mallory got this hangman set from my dad for her birthday because she was constantly setting up hangman games.
Carson has watched Mallory play for the past month-ish and has learned the routine.
He & I woke up early one morning last weekend and he grabbed the hangman board and challenged me to a game.
The Bus
The bus…as in being thrown under one.
Thanks, Mallory.
Thanksgivin-g
Mallory brought this home yesterday. I love her.
Notice her use of hyphens at the end of the word thanksgiving (twice).
Ignore that she spelled her own name wrong at the end, and the multiple other errors. She is grounded this weekend for those. I’m totally kidding.
Catching up ~ August 2012
OK, I am literally going to write a post to [try to] catch up on the last 3 months. Three months of football season + three months of a bajillion photo shoots = three months of craziness.
Here we go:
We spent lots of summer time at the pool – it helped that it was hotter than hades this summer and that we were able to join Georgetown Country Club this summer.
Carson learned how to swim:
and go off the diving board (he would do this for as long as someone would catch him) – and it’s fun to go back and watch …
Happy Golden Birthday, Mallory!
Mallory turns six today. She asked last night at bedtime if she turned six at midnight – I told her that if she wanted to get technical, she wasn’t really six until 8:11p on November 6.
I think she chose to be un-technical about it.
It is election day today so she doesn’t have school. Her present from Rick & me is a trip to Chicago, by train, to go to the American Girl Store. We told her last night at dinner (it’s a little anti-climactic because the waitress chose the total wrong time to stop and ask what we wanted for …
