i can’t help but brag about our smart baby girl…she is already reading!!!
food!!!
we got the green light from the pediatrician to start MC on rice cereal. i think it had more to do with spending the one-on-one time with her and less to do with her being “ready”. the pediatrician made some comments about both rick & i working and doing whatever we can to make sure that dinner time is special, etc. either way, i was excited to get started!
i had mallory take a little nap after her appointment which she was happy to do once i gave her a little tylenol (she got 3 shots again at this appointment) so that she …
mallory got hit by a train
so we got our first accident report from daycare yesterday: mallory got hit by a train. a slow-moving toy train, but a train none-the-less. she had a tiny red mark under her eye which was gone before i could get a picture. the bump looked appropriate seeing as how she is going to be a rinkrat all weekend!
i forgot!
i forgot to post that mallory made it to her first UM hockey game on Friday night! she LOVED it, except when Michigan scored. i don’t think it was because she was upset that UM scored, i think it was mostly because of the loud crowd. luckily we didn’t go to the saturday night game when UM scored 8 goals.
the best part is that she handled being up past her bedtime beautifully, thank goodness.
it's tough being 4 months
rick put mallory in her exersaucer today and turned around to start making himself some lunch. he came back to check on her a minute later and found her passed out in her seat. rough life, eh? maybe the time change screwed her up.
yesterday we had a playdate with one of my pre-natal yoga moms and her husband and their 7-mo old son Kyle. jen & i actually went to college together and ran into eachother at the yoga class (embarrasing for me because for as good as my memory is with regard to numbers and dates i am sometimes bad …
"The Mal"
check out the fancy robe that mallory’s grandma made her. here she is practicing standing up in her new robe.
she has started to find her toes and likes to grab at them whenever possible. tonight in the bath, she was grabbing her feet and she then let them go and they made a HUGE splash. so she did it again…and again…and again. we can’t wait to get her into the water this summer!!
on a side note…could she look any more like rick? sweet jesus!
a 4 month old pumpkin
luckily our pumpkin hasn’t turned all mushy and attracted mice like how a real pumpkin would at 4 months old.
this sweet baby of ours really is growing up too fast. we are starting to get some real giggles (as opposed to the laughs that really sounded like coughs) and mallory is *thisclose* to rolling over from back to front. seeing as how she isn’t a big fan of being on her tummy, and is unable to roll from her tummy to her back, she’ll be pretty fired up if she ever gets her hips all the way around. hahaha.
this sweet baby …
lesson learned
here is my lesson learned for this week: if the baby wakes up at 2.15a (a completely unprecedented middle of the night wakeup), do NOT send her just-returned-from-11-days-away daddy in to “comfort” her, unless you want to not only have to comfort her from her night wakeup, but also have to comfort her from the scary guy who showed up next to her crib.
cooper is 2!
today is cooper’s 2nd birthday and we celebrated with a walk in the woods with his dog friends: CJ, Fenway, Buster, Randy, Reilly and Buddy. coops was SOOOO excited to have all his friends enjoying his favorite walk spot. i even think reilly & her mom may start joining us for walks after work.
coops got some cool dog treat presents (he was sniffing them out the whole ride home) and he handed out some nice gift bags for his friends that had a peanut butter rawhide and a milkbone in them.
i am a huge dork, i know, throwing a party for …
here's a visual for you
i figured that since i talk so much about her sleeping, i’ll share a picture of her sleeping. i put the blankets next to her face and she pulls them across her face with her hands and falls asleep in one second.
