We are watching highlights of the Michigan-Northwestern game from yesterday and Carson said “they were the best defense but we have the best defense. That’s not a ‘no offense’, I’m just sayin’.”
Catching Up – September 2015 style
I know I’ve said this before but I so miss being here. I wish I made more time to write here.
The kids are (mostly) still awesome. {I say mostly because oy did we have a rough bedtime tonight…}
Anyway – here’s our update:
Mallory is in 4th grade and continues to love school. She’s still swimming for the local swim club. Mal also made the 10U softball team in Dexter and is planning that Rick will still work for Michigan so he can be the equipment manager still when she gets to Michigan.
She got her ears pierced in August, just a short …
President Mallory
Came downstairs yesterday morning to make breakfast for the kids. Opened up the fridge and found this:
That night at dinner we were still giggling about how funny it was. Mallory told us that really Barack Obama rules America, but that someday she really would.
Rick told her she had to be 35 to president and she said she already knew that because of Barbie. Oh, OK.
Three
Three little monkeys, sleeping in my bed.
Good thing we have a king bed that fits both kids + Rick.
Marlo of Sportsville
(So I guess I need to change my plan from trying to post monthly to posting seasonally? Well, spring came. And this happened.)
Yes, we got a puppy. Super Coops turned 10 in March and seeing has how we were owed a free puppy from the breeder where we got Cooper (what with his defective elbows and all) we cashed in on that guarantee! In mid-April we checked out some almost five week old puppies and there was one male black lab pup left (out of a litter of 13!). We brought him home May 8th and potty accidents aside, we feel …
I love that kid
Carson – who is probably too old to still be sleeping in our bed but I don’t care – still sleeps in our bed almost every night. Rick should move him, and does sometimes, but when he doesn’t, stuff happens like it did this morning.
My alarm went off, and I hit the snooze button and turned over. Carson was right there and threw his arm over my neck and said quietly, “hi momma”. When my alarm went off again, he again opened his eyes and gave a little smile and quietly said “the birds are awake!”
I love love love the …
Literally
“Mommy! You are literally on my pillow!”
Opening day 2015
Rick & I decided to get Carson tickets for the Detroit Tigers’ Opening Day game for his birthday. The game was during the day, during Carson’s spring break, and spring football was over so Rick could take him.
Bonus points because Carson’s favorite player, Awex Abiwa (Alex Avila) hit a home run, thus the towel waving in second picture.
Mallory and Cooper
i need to make sure these pictures are somewhere Mallory will always have them. This seems as good a place as any.
I think Cooper thinks he is 20 lbs and not 65 lbs. but either way it is crazy adorable.
Lets find out!
Carson reading books at bedtime is so fun. I forget that he is actually reading until he says a word quietly out loud.
Tonight he turned the page and said “WHOA!! What is that?” Then he said “let’s find out!” And kept reading.
He is awesome.
