In between searching for “plum” (palm) trees, on our way from the airport to the hotel our first day in Orlando, Mallory was doing this in the back seat.
Thoughts?
She was searching for ALLIGATORS, duh!

Blah.
Let me start by saying that the cowbells were obnoxious before we even got to the tailgate. The Mississippi State fans were ringing them all around downtown Jacksonville for days leading up to the game.
We had the nicest weather of the week for gameday – I made sure to sunscreen up the kids and we headed off to the stadium with the standard police escort. And nope, still doesn’t get old.
Some friends from home were down for the game and had a tailgate that the kids & I stopped by. The beer (for me) and hotdogs (for the kids) were …
Our trip to Florida has been rather uneventful. The weather was SUPER yucky the beginning of the week so we hunkered down in the hotel and didn’t do much (like 30s and super windy, which I realize isn’t very cold, but it was cold since I didn’t bring our winter coats…)
Wednesday I was invited to go on the official wives’ trip to St Augustine. We got to have lunch and do a trolley tour of the city, and then we had some time to shop. That night I met a friend for dinner (Hi Amy!); it was awesome to eat …
I finally got to have Rick be my date for a game in the Big House when Michigan & Michigan State played hockey earlier this month. Rick is such a tailgating novice – he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to have a beer as we walked to our friend’s tailgate!
Then when we got to the stadium, I had to take his picture on the steps, because OH.MY.GOSH it was his FIRST GAME! I’m pretty sure I really embarrassed him by taking this picture.
The other funny thing is that after Michigan scored the first of their five (unanswered) goals, I …
Mallory has been singing (and dancing to) “I like to move it, move it” for a couple of months – apparently they listen to it sometimes at school, and Mallory & Allison always go to town.
Mallory got the movie Madagascar from Santa and has repeatedly requested that we play the music video special feature of the song. Today she told me to go back in the bathroom so I wouldn’t be able to see her, and so I did what any self-respecting mom would do – I grabbed the camera so I could secretly record her dancing (it takes about 10 seconds …
Christmas 2010 was spent in a hotel room in Florida and I was determined to make it somewhat special for the kids…this is what our little tree looked like with all the presents under it on Christmas morning.
Mallory and Carson slept in until 7.20a on Christmas morning before Mallory came to my side of the bed and asked if Santa came. I told her I wasn’t sure and she said that their stockings looked like the had stuff in them. So we got Rick up (he is the WORST in the morning) and the kids anxiously awaiting the word GO …
With Michigan getting to a bowl game again this year, Mallory was fired up for her Christmas vacation. Michigan became bowl-eligible with the win on her birthday, and she got a cute Princess packpack for her birthday, so she’s been talking for almost two months about how she was going to take her pink packpack on our Christmas vacation.
Rick left on the 23rd, and I flew down with the kids on Christmas Eve. We’d sent all our presents down on the equipment truck so we could celebrate Christmas together in Florida. The kids were pretty good on our flight down, …
Is it bad that I let Carson be entertained by the fridge for 15 minutes so I could play on the computer?
Mallory just looked at these pictures with me and was quick to point out that “that’s the mess that Carson made but that I cleaned up for you”.
I started keeping a running list of stuff Mallory said because it was just too hard to try to remember and then blog about. So this is a few months worth of funny stuff that comes out of her mouth:
“When I grow big I’m going to have a pink phone with purple sparkles, from a different kind of Target store that you have never been.”
“Look how awesome my hair is getting.”
MCB – “I smell someone” STB: “who?” MCB: “it’s you”. STB: “what do I smell like?” MCB: “Cherry pie.”
“Dad cracks me up when he says beautiful.”
“It’s not nice …
Looks like Carson has a new toy obsession…it’s no longer all football guys all the time, now it’s cars on his new road rug that he got from my dad for Christmas. It is so funny to watch him sit and line them all up.
Stay tuned for pictures of Mallory’s wrap-fest; she was bored and started making Christmas presents for all of us, and then she had to wrap them. Who knew a roll of tape, scissors, crayons, some wrapping paper and a bag of bows could entertain a 4-yr old for so long? Rick & I got a kick …
